About The Project
Climate change is the single biggest thing that humans have ever done on this planet. The one thing that needs to be bigger is our movement to stop it.
Bill McKibben

My name is Denizcan. I am a geochemist and paleoclimate scientist having previously worked in and obtained a doctorate from the UK. A strong background in chemistry and a keen interest in climate science have fueled various journeys to the Polar oceans of our beautiful blue planet. These rare opportunities allowed me to capture the truly breathtaking nature of these ice-covered regions largely untouched by man. Sadly, I also witnessed first-hand the accelerated ice retreat and temperature rise due to global climate change.
The aim of project ArcBeat (i.e. “Arctic Heartbeat”) is to share truly unique images of the Arctic, and informative animations of satellite-sourced climate data (such as sea ice concentration and sea surface temperature), in the form of NFTs on the most environmentally-friendly blockchain to date – Cardano. I hope this will raise global awareness of climate change and would like for you to join me on this journey! You can browse the NFTs on the homepage, Pool.PM, and (very soon) on the Artifct.app CNFT marketplace upon launch. New collections will be added as they emerge. The majority will only ever be minted once and are unique. Finally, 20% of the profits will be donated to support climate research at the International Polar Foundation, while the rest will be put towards analytical equipment for my R&D laboratory.
